Nuclear Level Rant, and Some Disclosure

Ever had petty, stupid shit set you off WAY more than it should? That’s where we’re at today. We had somebody who we thought we were beginning to develop what looked like it could be a good friendship (in time) with, who suddenly went cold, started talking about “fuckery” and games, BUT when asked what was wrong between us, lied her ass off and said everything was fine. Easier to make blind assumptions about people you barely know than communicate like an adult, right?

There were continued attempts to offer general support for her present circumstances and a couple more attempts to clear the air that were met with increasing hostility. It culminated with her cutting ties completely and smearing us anonymously in her blog.

That Disclosure Before Continuing:

We’ve left it VERY ambiguous about who we are and many other personal details. There are very solid reasons for that. Writing erotica carries a TON of stigmas. Girls who write erotica are bored sluts who need to be raped, etc… Guys are just incel horndogs who can only “write put it in and pound away” that barely resembles a story.

Coming out from behind a pen name risks stalkers, public scorn, blow back from family, church and other religious leaders in the area, etc… especially in the (semi) small town South. Yeah, maybe it wasn’t the best place to move to in that regard.

If you haven’t guessed yet, “Silk Cords” isn’t a guy or a gal. We’re a married team, and our online persona is a mix of both our experiences and personalities. It was surprisingly easy since we’re pretty similar on both fronts. The original intent in presenting a blended persona was stay safe by making it harder to identify us. Everything we’ve posted regarding our lives has been true overall though, be it our experiences in California, the honeymoon in Hawai’i in 2019, the Georgia house drama, and even “Ginger”, who we both claim ownership of:

We’re both redheads, into martial arts and fitness (among other shared interests), both empathic, and we collaborate on the erotica to try to bring a balance of a man’s and woman’s perspective to the stories. The goal there being to create something that appeals to a wider audience. And while we’re at it here… She’s bi and a switch (and not looking, boys), and he’s straight and a dom. That’s ALL the details you’re going to get from us there also.

Oh, and while we’re at it, since he wants to be able to do posts on the subject, HE is “the mechanic in the family” often mentioned in past posts. 16 years of engine performance work and 5 ASE certifications.

Back to the Rant:

If the desire for privacy and hesitancy to trust seems extreme to anyone, you have to understand our backgrounds. Both of us had toxic families growing up, and bad brothers as well. Her’s stole her identity, committed credit fraud, and when her mother died, that same brother tried to steal her inheritance out from underneath her. His bother is a 500 lb drunk who lies constantly to try to make him look bad and boost his own self-image and appearance in the eyes of others.

We’ve BOTH been stalked also. His story would be almost humorous if it wasn’t so annoying. A gay guy online got infatuated and followed him around the net, making a royal pain in the ass of himself. SHE had to take out a restraining order on hers and that is a part of why we own guns.

We could go on, but suffice it to say genuine, deep trust doesn’t come easy to either or us, BUT we still try to act like good people, help others and do the right thing. Our next door neighbor is a single mom trying to support 3 kids, and we mow and rake her lawn for her, as one example.

Refarmer here on WP had a cat with a broken leg a few years ago, also named Ginger (probably part of the reason we had so much sympathy for his plight, lol).

We did a post in our blog to help get extra attention to the donation campaign Refarmer was running. We also donated $250 of our own money, almost half the cost of the operation, ourselves. We never bragged about it. Fame wasn’t the goal, helping the poor cat was. There’s a Bible verse that says if you brag about all the good you do, that’s all the reward you get (on Earth). We both believe that’s true from a karma standpoint as well.

None the less, when somebody is smearing us online, it becomes necessary to step up and set the record straight.

All she had to do was be adult enough to speak up and ask about any given concerns. We’d have been honest. When somebody lacks the maturity to even be able to admit there’s a problem, lies when outright asked about it, and then points fingers and cries about it after running away…

Well let’s just say that kind of juvenile behavior justifies our lack of faith in some people. She wanted our complete trust but was unwilling to give any of her own.

And for what it’s worth… Speaking as empaths, the trouble with relying solely on intuition for guidance is that it’s too easily swayed by irrational fears, stress and other drama. Feeding other people bad information only results in a “Garbage In, Garbage Out” situation also. Intuition can ONLY be trusted when a person is in a state of perfect calm. That’s why it’s ALWAYS best to balance intuition and “gut instinct” with common sense and logic.

Logic on it’s own is cold hearted and prone to the easiest out of a problem. Intuition is too subject to the whims of emotion. Use them both to keep each other in check though, and you’ll rarely go wrong.

This kind of chicken shit backstabbing over imagined slights though… It’s shitty. We go out of our way to support the community here while maintaining our anonymity and this is what we get. We didn’t deserve it from the person who reblogged our original post on curbing gun violence only to turn around days later and say ALL gun owners were mass murderers, and we didn’t deserve it this time.

Well, the good thing we suppose is that the cat is as far out of the bag as it’s going to get. The secrecy level has been getting to us for a while, and maybe this is God making something good come out of some pointless bad.

And if anyone else wants to turn on us, you’re only proving our desire for secrecy correct.

Were Old Timers So Wrong After All?

I’ll get my Thursday Neuro-Linguistic Programming post done later today. Lots of chores. I did want to get something posted before it got much later though. I stumbled across yet another Cracked.com article on the MSN home page. This time making fun of historical over-reactions. Looking it over though, time has only proven half of the tidbits to be correct in my opinion.

This one is the most iffy one on my list. While it wouldn’t be too hard to make a psychological connection between social drinking of soda pop and it normalizing the behavior of socialized drinking of alcohol, let’s look at the bigger picture.

We now know that soda pop is extremely heavy in sugar and complex carbs. We also know that both sugar and caffeine are extremely addictive as well. I’d make the case that with Americans at least, (I can’t speak on other countries’ consumption) it’s a major contributor to the epidemics of diabetes and morbid obesity.

The one evangelical may have gone off the deep end overstating it’s “corrupting influence”, but can anybody deny that soft drinks are BAD news?

I remember those days. We’ve been conditioned now to think of automation as convenient, etc… If you think of it though, ATMs were the first large step in replacing human workers with machines. Robots and A.I. had their beginning with the ATM’s eventual success.

That was one of several reasons cars were hated at first. Ironically though, this one was correct. In my college history class, we discussed the automobile’s role in the sexual revolution and how it enabled younger people to much more easily find privacy to do the dirty deed. 😯😯😯

Anybody reading this NOT had sex in a car at least once?

On the surface, this WILL appear as blasphemy to my fellow writers. Hear me out though. MY argument is simply that the prediction was early. Publishing houses and other aspects of the book industry used to mean that books were fact checked to some degree at the very least. I am talking strictly about non-fiction by the way.

With the advent of social media and self-publishing via sites like Amazon, now anybody can claim anything with no regard to the truth. The better the spin, the more it will sell also.

So no, books themselves will not ruin civilization, but the effortless mass dissemination of misleading half truths and outright blatant misinformation very likely could be the end of civilization.

You have to get to the bottom of the picture to see the real issue: Candles. If you think this is blown out of proportion, first think about how many times you may have fallen asleep while reading.

Beyond that, unattended candles are a HUGE fire risk. Up until around 1980 when he retired, my grandfather had worked his way up a lifetime career as a firefighter to Chief of two different cities and eventually deputy state fire marshal (#2 firefighter in California), and he HATED candles with a burning (pun intended as always) passion due to all the fires he’s seen them start.

Even today, with new apartments having mandatory sprinkler systems, and other safety advances for homes, offices and apartments, candles still start 20 house fires in the U.S. every single day. They’re the 9th most common cause of house fires also.

Lesson for the day: Fire is like every other dangerous tool; it has to be respected and used carefully. 😉

And last but FAR from least…

Cracked actually makes it sound like this is a good thing. bankers profit off of human need, and allow big businesses to charge even higher prices for good and services due to banks giving people credit. Banks also fund big corporations and are partially responsible for their growth and eating of other businesses. Let’s not even get into the banking industry’s role in the housing bubble of 2008 OR how the big five banks had their lawyers write the Dodd-Frank Act’s “reforms” to give themselves a much greater share of the banking market.

I could argue that the creation of banks MAY have been the beginning of the end for society.

The Woes of Writing

My previously voiced frustration from Monday continues. It feels like an onion, with layer after layer of baggage being peeled away and revealing more. There was some weirdness Monday night when we went out shopping also that I’m pretty sure contributed to the dark malaise hanging over me, but that’s another story. My spiritual posts seem to chase away more readers than they attract anyway.

So, with that said, let’s focus on the issue of writing specifically:

Analysis Paralysis

This has been my biggest roadblock with multiple projects lately. I have several ideas (stories) that I’ve been mulling over but I can’t decide which path I want them all to take. I feel as stuck as Cicero in Skyrim if the player meets him early… and nearly as crazed anymore, LOL.

Skyrim’s Own Version of the Joker.

Coincidentally one of them was an adult themed recounting of Skyrim. There’s a few other erotica ideas as well, and the whole “Jedi Leia” story, which got a whole 14 views for it’s last chapter. 🫤 Maybe I need to make it adult to get any attention. 😯

From Pinterest; Original Source Unknown

Yes, I’m frustrated. Everybody wants their stuff read, but nobody wants to read anybody else’s material.

Regardless, I doubt I’m going to get another chapter out today. I went hunting for inspiration on YouTube and got multiple similar stories told there. Many of them revolve around the next scene with Leia and Vader in the detention block and what happens there. Does Vader recognize Leia as his daughter? He should have, based on the expanded understanding of the Force. Does Vader turn at that point? Does Vader instead try to turn Leia to the Dark Side like he did Luke?

The story could go 100 different directions from there based on that one pivotal interaction.

Since I don’t want to turn the story into something that is completely unrecognizable as the original trilogy, I don’t want to veer too far off course… Or do I? There are still many twists I could add while still keeping close to the original trilogy.

Witchfire’s Someday Return

My own Creation

This is a project I’ve been planning a reboot of forever. I’m starting to feel like Bethesda Software with delivering Elder Scrolls 6. The original intent was to do a series of superheroine peril themed erotica and do it classier than the website I was using as inspiration.

Everything went wrong there, including my falling into the traps that I had been complaining about other writers falling victim to. Hence a long delayed reboot.

One good thing has come out of the wait; I finally found something closer to an ideal costume:

Those taken from Baldur’s Gate 3 (heavily modded). It’s much closer to what I originally envisioned than the other software produced, but still only 90% of the way there. I do particularly like the staff though.

Well, long story short, I’m still debating myself silly over the details of how I want the reboot to go. Being as that is adult content, it’ll only be on my NSFW blog when I do start writing it again.

Blog Drama…

Last but not least, I have the issue of ongoing blog frustrations. I’ve complained about the one-sided relationships most bloggers think are normal and proper anymore. A growing portion of bloggers don’t even put in the effort of the whole transactional likes nonsense. “I followed you, now give me likes and comments while I ignore you”.

Yeah, yeah… Nobody’s obligated to follow and comment, etc… THIS is taking things to the whole other toxic end of the stream though.

Aside from dealing with the above nonsense, what really opened this sore again was the fact that I started dropping claps (Likes) and comments at Medium.com and without publishing anything of my own, I’ve already gotten likes and about a dozen followers. People there seem to want genuine interaction.

So yes, it’s left me frustrated again with the quality of the overall community here at WordPress. Every time I think I’ve let it go and gotten used to the low standards here, they go and lower the bar again, LOL. I have it rough enough as it is. I’m part Scot, Part Irish, Part German AND a redhead. The only thing keeping me remotely sane is the Welsh quarter of my ancestry. 🤣🤣🤣

It’s the handful of awesome people here that keep me staying around at all.

The EVIL That Is A.I.

I could go on quite a rant here… Make it my longest “Tuesday Trash” yet. Truth is nobody seems to care that they’re training computers to take over everything. Half of them admit they know that’s what’s taking place too.

I understand why Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg are doing it. They think they’re going to be able to control what they unleash and become masters of humanity. Everybody else helping them do it though… WHY?

What’s that got to do with writing and blogging? Just look at all the A.I. generated content here. Most of it is pictures / artwork as opposed to writing. Is it really “democratizing” art when artists who have taken years to learn their craft are being put out of work by everyone typing a few sentences into an A.I.?

There’s the Grand Admiral Thrawn angle to consider with the art creation also. Timothy Zahn did a great job in his books of showing how Thrawn was able to profile entire civilizations based simply on the nature of their artwork. I don’t think it’s too far fetched to imagine that A.I. is learning the same processes as part of it’s ever increasing development. The tech elites operate and have grown obscenely wealthy on one key premise: knowledge is power.

And yet… Here I sit wondering if I have to give in and resort to A.I. generated pretty pictures to get anyone to pay attention to what I write. It’s depressing.

Tuesday Trash: Food Safety is Going Away Next

I thought I might end up taking a pass on Tuesday Trash this week or at least end up with a few minor grumbles. Luckily(?) the GOP did NOT let me down.

The Republicans are pushing for an outright constitutional amendment that would ban any form of federal regulation of food production.

“The right of the people to grow food and to purchase food from the source of their choice shall not be infringed, and Congress shall make no law regulating the production and distribution of food products which do not move across state lines,”

Republican Representative Thomas Massie, who is spearheading the constitutional amendment

All of this is of course being wrapped in the banner of individual freedom, with an Amish farmer named Amos Miller becoming the center of the Republican argument. Miller has been getting legal flack from the feds and the state of Pennsylvania for selling raw milk at his farm.

If it was a simple matter of letting family farms sell goods without drama, laws could be created and amended.

What’s it REALLY About?

This is yet another thinly veiled attempt by the GOP to increase the power of big corporations. The biggest proof is right in the quote above. How many local farmers like Miller do you think are selling their goods across state lines. Virtually none. You know who is though?

Mega-Corporations that sell meat, produce and other food products across the country. This law would effectively strip the federal government of any ability to regulate them. For those who want to see what life and food quality was like before federal regulation, take a look at Upton Sinclair’s “The Jungle“:

For those of you who never got introduced to the book in school, the author wen undercover in the meat packing industry and wrote the book as a blistering expose of what he saw there. Things like hams curing while covered in rat feces.

This was in 1906, not even 120 years ago. Our food regulations at this point are far from ideal. Big green tomato worms get ground up into ketchup, and it’s allowed

Peanut butter has a certain amount of rat hair that’s allowed to be ground up into it as another disgusting example.

If you think that’s bad, wait until there are NO regulations again.

Same Game, Different Target

Yes, this kind of thing has been done before. The most glaring example is the Dodd-Frank Act after the housing bubble. It was sold to the public as protecting them from the kind of bad lending that was epidemic in the years prior to the housing collapse.

The bill was drafted by lawyers from Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, and the rest of the big five banks. What it actually did was drown the industry in paperwork and make it cost prohibitive for small and medium sized banks to compete. They were eaten up by the big five and now they have a huge lock on the financial services industry and are nation-wide instead of regional. Guess what? HELOCs and other bad loans are back now also.

If you want DE-regulation examples though… Tennessee in 2014 all but abolished it’s workman’s comp system. The argument being that it was to fight fraud and make the state more business friendly. What it did was allow employers to abuse and injure employees with impunity. And to get completely away with it, all they had to do was have a doctor in their pocket that said the injury was pre-existing. That’s what happened with the carpal tunnel in both my wrists. That sadly even works in a wrongful death incident at work. “Oh, sure… he fell into the meat grinder and was torn apart, BUT he had a heart attack so the death wasn’t on the company”. That’s no exaggeration. If a doctor will say a death was 51% the cause of something else, the company is held harmless no matter how bad the working conditions were.

Look what de-regulating cable TV decades ago got us; commercials on paid TV, much higher prices and lousy content. That’s right youngsters; cable’s original selling point is your subscription money meant never watching a commercial… until corporate greed took over.

All of this is why *I* can’t support Trump. I started out hopeful in 2016 with his talk of ‘draining the swamp’, much like my dad was with Ross Perot’s similar rhetoric years ago. Trump did more to dismantle federal regulation in ways that gave big business huge advantages over up and comers though. He doesn’t care about the little guy, only his corporate cronies. If he gets into office again, mark my words, it’ll be all out war on public health and safety.

Sad part is most of the Dems aren’t any better. It’s all whose lies they’re spreading and money they’re taking vs the Pub’s corporate overlords. “Sure, solar panels are solid sheets of toxic waste, BUT we can pretend we’re helping the environment.”

If you ever want a real look at how DC truly works, watch this movie! It’s true… It’s damned true, despite being a comedy. The answer:

Brewster’s Millions had it right

Original Story: Republican’s Constitutional Amendment Would Change How Americans Eat

…First Remove the Beam From Your Own Eye

That, and frustrated is how I feel today. It’s been a rough last 24 hours. Not due to anything bad happening, just alot of internal struggle coming to the surface.

Ironically, I think it came to a head when I was doing some research to try to help another blogger with a spiritual energy imbalance issue. I started recognizing more and more of the symptoms in myself. Too much stuff bottled up for too long. I’ve spent enough time bitching about it here in the blog over the years, so I won’t repeat it all. I’m just annoyed with myself because I thought I’d let more of it go, and was past the whole “serenity now” thing.

I suspect part of the trigger was accepting that we’re letting the whole thing go with the house in Georgia. The mortgage company sold it off to somebody else, so we’re out from under the debt. It’s just a question of the money we lost from the down payment and other costs. Small town Georgia is so corrupt it’s unlikely that we’d win first time around. Appeals would move us closer to Atlanta, which is quite liberal. Our odds are better there, but in the mean time, I’m playing lawyer for us (which is a MASSIVE time sink) and the hosebag former owner will almost certainly either bankrupt out of any possible judgment and / or hide all his assets.

Part of me is screaming for justice and FIGURATIVELY wants his head on a pike…

…but it’s questionable in regards to making it happen and better for our mental and emotional health to focus on moving forward and trying to rebuild what we can of our financial future.

Maybe it’s wishful thinking, but there’s a vague lingering sense that if we get out of the way, Karma is going to hit him hard anyway.

In the mean time, I need to spend some time doing the exercises I spent Friday and Saturday documenting and see if I can improve my state of mind.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

That goes even for you poser Irish out there, LOL. After all, as the joke goes, everybody is Irish on St Paddy’s Day.

I’m the black sheep of the authentically (part) Irish, I suppose. Everybody will be bragging in their blogs today and tomorrow about their corned beef and cabbage. Personally, I’m NOT a fan.

Blasphemy, you say? Perhaps. You might feel the same way in my shoes though. My family thought the correct way to cook corned beef and cabbage was to throw everything into a pot of water and boil the hell out of it. Everything lost it’s flavor, but the fat off the corned beef partially melted and made everything taste greasy.

So yeah… There yah go. That’s not to say I haven’t done corned beef before. I smoked one on our grill years back, along with other meat for meals later that week. You can see THAT post here: Meatzapalooza.

For those not inclined to see the meal, it turned out good overall but the corned beef was over-brined and somewhat too salty for me. It cooked up perfect otherwise:

The next day, being a contrarian, I had to do something different with it for dinner. I didn’t feel like an ornate meal. So, what DID I end up doing, you ask??

Corned beef sandwiches with coleslaw and Havarti cheese on pretzel rolls with fries.

Viola: Corned beef, cabbage and carrots (in the slaw) and potatoes (fries). Untraditionally traditional. 😁 How’s that for clever? LOL

Today we’re doing alot of cleaning around the house and are planning on salad for dinner. Sometimes you’ve just got to break the rules.

In Other News…

My personal “got spammed” record here at WP was broken last night. 56 likes in 2 minutes. I’d name and shame, but they don’t read others’ blog anyway, LOL. Besides, you almost have to admire the effort behind the desperate cry for attention. If you’re going to spam you might as well go all out, right?

That also helped bring my deleted emails folder up to 4,768 deleted emails. 😯

Spirituality Saturday: Breaking Free of Feeling Thwarted

This exercise is for feeling truly and completely thwarted in one or more specific areas in your life… When you’ve tried almost everything else and you’re still so blocked that it that all you feel is pain and despair. It’s a supplement to yesterday’s post on negative emotions, for when something stronger is needed.

How It Works / General Theory:

I stumbled onto this exercise after decades of feeling completely thwarted in every aspect of my life.  I was promised that it was ideal for fixing that exact situation.  The person I got it from picked it up from a Buddhist monk.  Where the monk got it from, I don’t know.  Presumably another Buddhist monk, LOL.  Here’s the premise behind it:

The reason some events are so hard to overcome is because of the connections between the energy / emotions, and the mental processes (memories and inner dialogue) connected to them.

Stop and ponder that for a moment.  Recall a time where you REALLY felt at your wit’s end with a situation.  Can you recall how your body felt?  Do you recall feeling all knotted up inside, or like a weight was pressing down on you, or that you were all wrapped by an invisible cable?  THAT is what we’re talking about here.

It’s a two part problem with the energy and emotions anchoring the memories and dialog.  This is why things like affirmations and such only have short term effectiveness at best.  However, if you clean out the energy connected with the issue, that issue loses it’s anchor and power.

The Actual Process:

First thing you’ll want to do is find a peaceful, quiet place to sit down.  I generally don’t recommend laying down as people tend to fall asleep.  Keep your spine straight during the exercise, as energy flows better that way.

What you’ll want to do is focus on a specific issue you’ve been trying to clear.  Yes,one issue at a time.  If you’re really screwed up, you may be repeating this exercise several times on several issues, LOL.  Get a memory of that specific issue pictured clearly in your mind; the event, the feelings, etc.

Next you’ll want to pay careful attention to how your body reacts to that.  Feel for blockages of negative energy in your body.  There’s no rhyme or reason to where it might be, or how it might feel.  It could be a tight, constricting feeling, a sinking feeling, a swirling feeling, etc… and could be anywhere in your body; back, neck, stomach, head, foot, boob(s), eyeball… who knows.

Once you’ve located the energy, shut down the memory.  You want your attention completely focused on the only the energy / emotion.

There are a couple of ways to proceed from here.  Whatever option you take, grounding and white light at this point will help your work.  Take the negative energy or emotion and “push” it out of your body.  Using the white light I’ve found helps undo the “glue” that may be helping the energy stay rooted.

If the energy doesn’t want to move, there’s the option of trying to ground it out.  Force that with the white light if needed.  If the energy is moving, there’s the advanced option; use the white light to increase the vibration of the bad energy as it exits your body.  The easiest way to do this is to sense the frequency of the white light and will the bad energy to vibrate faster and faster until it matches the white light.

One option is elevating the energy and then reabsorbing it so it can be put to positive use.  Me personally, I find it safer to release it into the world to be fully renewed.  Then fill in the gap in your personal energy with white light.  Nature abhors a vacuum, even spiritually, so if you leave a hole in your energy, it’ll fill in with some sort of energy.  Best to make it as positive as possible.

Once you do that, you’ll find the issue has lost most if not all of it’s power over you.  The bad memory won’t hold the same power, etc…  HOWEVER, there is a chance you may have to repeat this more than once with an issue because the energy will have built up in more than one location in your system.

If you want to get really advanced, try doing this while engaging the exercise steps from yesterday’s post. Combined, they’re an almost unbeatable spiritual cleansing process.

I’ll also add from personal experience that it’s a very good idea afterwards to talk down the mental aspect also.  Use affirmations that it was no big deal and that you’ve now overcome it, you’re on your way to a wonderful life, etc…  That way, both sides of the issue have been eliminated.  Working on that mental side insures that the negative energy and emotions have no anchor left at all to rebuild from.

Negative Feelings: An Enlightened Approach

Daily writing prompt
What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?

I’m doing a “Spirituality Saturday” early I guess. 😁

I’ve got an approach that looks complex on the surface, but is fairly easy to pick up with a little practice. I’m going to explain it out here.

First thing is to adopt a correct mindset regarding your feelings and what causes them. It’s OK to feel down about something. Saying otherwise would invalidate the cause of your pain. HOWEVER, the thing that lets people move on from truly horrific experiences is firmly deciding that they are in charge of their suffering, not the other way around.

What that means is it’s OK to mourn a loss, get mad briefly, rant if needed… At the same time though, let it go. If you hold on to it so tightly that you’re drowning, you WILL indeed drown in that negative emotion. The idea has been expressed in numerous philosophies; Stoicism, Buddhism, Taoism… Even Christianity; “Let Go and Let God”.

Some truths ARE universal. 😉

The negativity won’t fade instantly, but if you keep working at it, I promise it will in time. However, until you’re truly ready to let go and take back control, nothing will help. I’ve seen people thwart the best hypnotists because they were too determined to hang on to their hurt.

Beyond that I have a multi-step process to help the practitioner drain away negative emotions and energy. Doesn’t matter if you accept it only on a psychological level, or a deeper spiritual one.

Step One: Grounding or Rooting

This is another of those universal concepts. Eastern Monks and Yogis practice it, some psychologists use it as therapy, and almost all “magick” schools teach it as well. Most commonly, it’s called grounding, but it’s occasionally known as rooting as well. There’s a good chance some of you know it, BUT I’m being thorough and this is a keystone of spiritual healing and defense.

The idea with grounding is to visualize yourself connected to the Earth. Not just the Earth, but your connection should ideally extend down to the center of the Earth. The connection can go from the bottoms of your feet if standing or from your base chakra (tail bone) if sitting on the ground.

Note that the example illustrations above show the ground both ways, which is the best option. The art on the right illustrates the idea of the ground connection extending the the very center of the Earth.

The purpose is to let negative energy and emotions just flow to ground as if your body and spirit were acting as a lightning rod for that energy, drawing it down into the earth where it is cleansed and dissipates. The biggest side benefit is that it can keep you calm and focused, so it’s great for a meditation tool. The connection to the ground should act as a natural draw for the bad energy, but, as Huna teaches, “Energy Flows Where Attention Goes”, so you can augment that natural draw by mentally directing the energy down to the ground where it’ll ‘short out’.

Your goal with learning this should be to keep a natural ground existing at all times, then you can focus more attention to augment it when needed.

Step Two: Centering Yourself

Grounding comes before this because sometimes it takes that getting grounded to help get yourself back together.

Centering is much easier than you think. Self-proclaimed “gurus” make this out to be some great feat that requires expert training. Completely false. It takes a little practice to get good at it, but anyone can do it at a basic level.

All you do is shut out the distractions and daydreaming and get yourself completely “in the moment” where you actually are. Believe it or not, that can be done as simply as asking yourself the question “Where am I?” in a non-metaphorical sense.

The question forces your mind and subconscious to drop all the distractions and focus on your current situation and location. Tricky, right?

I can hear some of you now; “But the thoughts keep coming back…”. Here’s the way around that. Acknowledge the thought briefly and then release it. Thoughts and mental energy are tricky things. What you resist, you give focus to and therefore it persists. Hawaiian Huna put it simply: “Energy flows where attention goes“. Appraoch it from “OK, you’re there… bye now, I’m busy” and they quickly fade away.

One you get centered, just keeping your focus on the process here will help keep stray thoughts away all by itself. With some practice, you’ll work up to mindfulness and even true meditation IF you want to.

Step Three: White Light / Connecting With the Divine

I was an early adaptor decades ago to using this next step with grounding, but it’s more commonly known nowadays. Augmenting your grounding exercise with a connection ton the divine is a MASSIVE boost to the process.

The connection with the divine, however you define it, is relatively easy. Pray if you’re religious, and imagine God sending unconditional love down to and through you, driving out all the hurt and pain… protecting and healing you.  Get that firm connection with the divine, let the white light flow down through you and use it to recharge yourself and to help wash away any negative energy. That white light can also be used to form a protective shield (force field) or for healing also. Just visualize it.

Why white light specifically? It’s got an insanely fast vibrational frequency and is pure unconditional love and the divine. Just like with physical light, white light energy also includes all the ‘lesser’ frequencies. That means anything you can do with another energy, you can do with white light. It’s safest to work with and elevates your spirit also. In fact, if you can’t visualize and feel the energy of white light, that’s an indicator that you’re spiritually in a BAD place. That makes it a good barometer also.

How to improve there IF you are having troubles? Prayer, meditation and good deeds. Whatever elevates your spirit will bring you closer to The Divine and white light.

Step Four: Connecting the Circuit

This is a trick from Taoist meditation, qigong and martial arts. Crazy as it sounds, I promise it does work. All you do here is touch your tongue to the roof of your mouth while doing the process:

Technically it’s less “right vs wrong” as it is “good vs better”

But the Taoist (and other) teachings on this is that it connects the two major chi or qi meridians and allows for much better energy flow.

Step 5: Circular Breathing / The Small Microcosmic Orbit

This is a technique widely practiced across various Asian martial arts and philosophical . religious systems. It’s a combination of deep breathing and visualization.

Start with your tongue against the roof of your mouth as above. Breath slowly and deeply in through your nose and visualize your breath taking in positive energy with it. Visualize the energy traveling down the front of your body to your abdomen.

Exhale out your mouth as you continue visualizing the energy traveling in a circle from your abdomen and then back up your spine over the top of your head and out your mouth. As you visualize the circle, imagine the positive energy is flushing all the negative out and that you’re literally exhaling all the bad. Keep repeating the exercise.

Don’t worry about the Chinese terms in the picture above, just focus on inhale being the blue line and exhale being the red. The idea is that you want to keep a calm, steady continual circle of energy.

Side Note: The only time I ever saw a “serious” article about the idea of ki blast attacks like a Hadoken or a Kamehameha wave, the article said to do the technique as fast as possible, and tear off the energy as it came back up the spine, directing it through he shoulders, down the arms about out the hands. Never seen it work in real life, but that’s the supposed theory I guess. 😁 It was called circulating the dragon’s breath.

Step 1A: “Purity Blast”

This CAN be an opening to prepare yourself for the other steps, OR honestly, added at any point you need an extra umph to help clear out the garbage in your system. I didn’t include it earlier because it takes time to learn. Essentially what you’re doing is using the process in step 3 to “nuke” yourself with white light.

That GIF is an extreme visualization, but it serves it’s purpose. The beauty of using white light for this is that it doesn’t hurt anything except negative energy and emotions. White light is the energy of love, life and the Divine. So, yes, if you get to a point where you’re too overwhelmed to do any of the above, hit yourself with a “purity blast” before you continue. Even if you can’t visualize something as powerful as above, it will make a difference.

Rinse, Wash, Repeat

That’s the basic process. Just practice and keep it going for as long as is comfortable. It’s all easier than it sounds, and with a little patience and faith in yourself, you’ll have the routine down before you know it.

An Extra Tool: Cord Cutting

The concept of spiritual cords has a direct impact on shielding, so it’s important to understand them.  Cords are literal cords of spiritual energy that form any time there’s more than the briefest interaction (of any type) between people. They’re like the electrical wiring that the energy flows along and makes further energy exchange even easier. They can be good and bad. Good in that they’re the connection that lets friends and lovers know each other cares for or about the other. Bad in that they can be formed by things like fights with a problem child co-worker, AND cords go right through shields also.

Cords can be as thin as a glowing thread or as thick as your arm or leg. It depends how intense the connection is and how long it’s been in existence.

Guess I should make a note about spiritual ‘sight’ as well. Some people can see the things I’ve described thus far just like normal sight. Some of us only sense the the appearance and energy, like radar or recalling a memory. No right or wrong, it’s just different, so don’t feel broke if you fall into the second camp.

The easiest way to deal with cords is visualize some sort of spiritual cutting tool. Scissors, a knife, axe or sword… even claws, a lightsaber or chain saw, lol. Whatever you personally relate to as being the strongest tool for cutting the cords. Once you have the tool formed in your mind, use it to cut any negative cords you sense. Some people advocate cutting positive cords every night to keep relationships fresh. The jury is out on that one for me. If I had to hazard an opinion, I’d say do it if you feel a relationship is getting stale, but leave it alone otherwise. If the stale relationship ends as a result it was doomed anyway.

If you REALLY want to do cord cutting thoroughly, pull it out like a weed at both ends, and then burn it in a spiritual bonfire of white light. Otherwise cords CAN reattach themselves if prompted by new interactions.

Long story short, keeping bad cords cut is a really important part of keeping your energy clean.
